Michael Hammond is the Business Development Manager for Gemello® the warrantied twin-skin and overclad systems.

When Michael left school at 15, he joined a local builders’ merchant and worked on the trade counter for a few years before moving into the roofing side of the business.
The business was called Aspheltic, which was ultimately taken over by SIG Roofing, where he then worked for the following eight years. He moved into telecoms for a short period, but was drawn back to roofing and worked for SIG on the industrial roofing business for a few more years. In 2000, he left to work for Marley Eternit, selling fibre cement and agricultural sheets, for eight years, then moved to United Products for steel building solutions until he rejoined SIG Building Solutions at the beginning of 2025.
Michael’s working career has therefore largely been in construction, including cladding and roofing, always in technical sales. He brings many years of experience to his role with the Gemello® team.
Michael’s role today is to sell the Gemello® warrantied systems to both architects and contractors. Based in the north-east of England, he officially covers the north, plus Scotland and Ireland, supporting customers in this region.
Michael is married with two children and lives in Redcarr, near Middlesbrough. Outside work he enjoys golf and walking and has an active past in amateur dramatics.
