Why Invest in Solar Canopy Structures?
Generate Renewable Energy On Site:
Solar Canopy Structures allow businesses and organisations to generate clean electricity directly from existing parking infrastructure, helping to reduce reliance on grid energy and lower long-term operating costs.
Future-Proof Your Car Park:
As EV adoption continues to grow, Solar Canopy Structures create the ideal foundation for integrating EV charging infrastructure into your site.
Maximise Existing Space:
Unlike ground-mounted solar systems, Solar Canopy Structures in car parks make use of existing hardstanding areas without reducing operational land availability.
Improve Sustainability Credentials:
Solar Canopy Structures help support ESG objectives, sustainability targets and wider net zero commitments while visibly demonstrating environmental investment.
Enhanced User Experience:
Covered parking provides protection from weather conditions for customers, staff and visitors while improving the overall appearance and functionality of the site.
Improve Asset Value:
Energy-generating infrastructure can help improve the long-term functionality and commercial appeal of existing sites.
Solar Canopy Structure Designs:
Our 4 Basic Designs:
SIG Building Solutions offers innovative solar canopy support structures designed to enhance sustainability and support electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.
Our range includes four key designs: the Double Gull Wing, which supports up to six photovoltaic (PV) panels in portrait orientation for maximum energy generation per space; the Double Mono, a cost-effective solution that accommodates up to five PV panels in a portrait layout, ideal for south-facing locations; and the Single Row, which can be inclined or declined to support three PV panels in portrait orientation, making it a perfect fit for EV charge points.

Double Gull Wing:
Support system for up to 6 PV panels* in portrait giving the most kWp per space.

Single Row:
Decline or Incline support structure for 3 PV panels* in portrait. Ideal for EV charge points.

Double Mono:
Low cost support system for up to 5 PV panels* in portrait for south facing location.

Hot Rolled Single Post Canopies:
Our single post canopies are ideal when twin post canopies aren't suitable due to car park layout, such as angled or herringbone designs. Made in the UK, they feature hot-rolled steel columns and a cold-formed steel canopy, offering a waterproof solution without losing parking spaces.
