Integrating EV Charging Into Solar Canopies – A Smarter Way to Build
August 8, 2025Transforming a Historic Hertfordshire Site with Gemello® Revive

Overview
A former Fluorocarbon site in Caxton Hill, Hertfordshire, has undergone a striking transformation. What once stood as an aging industrial structure is now a revitalised, energy-efficient space comprising modern offices and a warehouse, thanks to the innovative Gemello® Revive over-cladding system from SIG Building Solutions.
Installed by Roof-Link Industrial and Commercial and managed by Vista Contracts South East Ltd, this project showcases the power of sustainable refurbishment, strategic collaboration, and high-performance British-made building products.
The Challenge
The project team was tasked with modernising the former Fluorocarbon site without demolishing the existing structure, a move aimed at reducing environmental impact, preserving architectural heritage, and controlling project costs.
The Solution: The Gemello® Revive Over-Clad System
To meet these objectives, the team specified the Gemello® Revive system, a warrantied over-cladding solution that dramatically improves thermal performance and visual appeal without the need for demolition.
“Gemello® Revive’s competitive pricing and immediate availability were key factors in our selection, it allowed us to keep the project on schedule and within budget.” – Martin Lloyd, Director at Roof-Link Industrial and Commercial.
